HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — High school students and veterans pursuing higher education or a new career path had some help today.
The Connecticut National Guard held a college and career fair in Hartford. Representatives from more than a dozen universities, community colleges and trade schools met with prospective students. Members of the Guard were available to talk to the public about the work they do.
“The institution of the guard is that of any other institution. We have people that have different job roles. I, myself, am a recruiter. You may other people who are dog handlers that are attached to military police units,” said Andre Mack, Connecticut National Guard.
Representatives from organizations like the Connecticut State Police talked to locals looking for a career change.
