NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — The Yale Peabody Museum celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy on Sunday. The museum had educational activities for visitors of all ages. They could learn about voting rights or see a performance. Visitors could also look at art or listen to a storyteller.

This is the 20th year the museum has held the event. Organizers expected thousands of people to attend.

“It’s very important to educate our community about the environment, social justice issues because we’re still facing a lot of the issues at this time,” said Events Coordinator Josue Irizarry. “Even though Martin Luther King started it we still have a long way to go.”

The event is free and will continue on Monday morning starting at 10 o’clock.
