HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — There are signs in the window of Oaxaca Kitchen in New Haven letting customers know the restaurant has closed after seven years in business.

It closed its doors for good on Saturday.

The owner also owned Thali, which closed late last month, and Thali Too, which will soon close after being in business for a decade.

Dozens of people worked in the restaurants part time and full time.

Original Story: Two more restaurants in New Haven closing

The owner says most of them have already found other jobs and that the restaurants closed for financial reasons. Hurricanes Irene and Sandy also hurt his cash flow.

He manages restaurants in other parts of the state and will be focusing on those in the meantime, but he hopes to eventually open another restaurant in New Haven.

“Closing for now probably doesn’t mean I’m leaving,” explained owner and chef Prasad Chirnomula. “I mean, the restaurants might go for awhile and I’m hoping to come back with a big bang.”

Thali Too’s last day of business will be next weekend.
