NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Neighbors woke up this morning to flames taking over their three-story home in New Haven.
Witnesses say residents ran out in the streets in just their pajamas to escape the smoke and flames at 153 Clay Street around 7 am Sunday morning. Smoke could be seen for several blocks.
Firefighters say everyone made it out safely. Crews say the flames spread to a nearby home, but they were able to get the fire under control within minutes.
Fire investigators are on scene trying to figure out what caused the fire to spark.
The Red Cross is helping the seven families impacted by the fire.
