NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Foodies are headed to New Haven this week. Restaurant Week in the Elm City kicks off on November 1.
More than two dozen restaurants are participating, offering everything from sushi to Cuban food. Restaurants are offering multi-course, prix fixe menus for lunch and dinner all week long. Restaurant Week is something that restaurant owners and their regulars say they look forward to every year.
“It’s fantastic, not just for our restaurant but for all of New Haven,” said Meera Laube-Szapira, Director of Operations at Roia Restaurant & Café. “It gives a chance for people who don’t get to try certain restaurants or maybe just haven’t tried a place because they haven’t thought to try a place to come and try it with a nice and exciting menu.”
“I think any initiative that can get people to try new places and encourage people to bring friends and community out to restaurants is really good,” said Geoff Shaw of New Haven.
Patrons can make a donation to the Connecticut Food bank when they pay their bills. New Haven’s Restaurant Week wraps up on November 6.
Mystic and Greenwich have restaurant weeks coming up in the next two weeks.
