NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — If you love food, Saturday is great day to be in the Elm City. The second annual New Haven Food Truck Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Part of Long Wharf Drive is closed to traffic for the festival. There are two dozen food trucks to choose from, serving up everything from Turkish food to seafood.

People can also check out the vendors, who are selling soaps, barbecue sauce and everything in between.

Organizers say food trucks are popular, and they’re hoping to bring in even more of them at next year’s festival.

“Food trucks are quick, easy, it’s good food,” said Jacqueline James, Deputy Director of Economic Development for the City of New Haven. “The overhead is low, they can move around, they can go from one place to another.”

The festival proceeds go to a loan program that helps small businesses in New Haven.
