ESSEX, Conn. (WTNH) — Boating season is almost here. Boat lovers and families are getting ready for it in Essex this weekend.
The Connecticut Spring Boat Show began on Friday and continued all day on Saturday at Brewer Essex Island Marina. Visitors saw more than 70 boats of all different sizes, including fishing boats, sail boats and yachts.
Organizers say the show is a great place for boating enthusiasts and for people who don’t know much about boating.
“It’s also a little bit of a smaller show, we like to call it a boutique show, so you have a little bit more time to talk to the brokers here at the show and learn a little bit more about the boats you’re looking at and about the sport in general,” said Tom Pilkington, President of Prestige Yacht Sales and an original show organizer.
The boat show will wrap up on Sunday; it starts at 10 a.m. The event is free.
