WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — The rain Sunday didn’t stop hundreds of people from heading outside and joining in the fight against multiple sclerosis. The National MS Society Connecticut Chapter held walks in West Haven and Litchfield.

News 8 stopped by the event at West Haven High School. Chief Meteorologist Gil Simmons was there too.

The West Haven walk raises about $75,000 every year. The money supports programs and services that help people affected by MS.

The disease affects more than 6,500 people in Connecticut alone.
