(WTNH) — There’s lots to do this weekend here in Connecticut. If you don’t yet have plans we’ve got some fun ideas for you and your entire family.
If you’re looking for something that’s fun for the kids and you’re in the mood to move check out Sesame Street Live at the Toyota Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford. There are shows on Saturday and Sunday. Elmo and friends will be having a dance party – and you’re invited to join in so bring your dancing shoes.
You’ll get a dance lesson from Cookie Monster.
If you are a chocolate lover you won’t want to miss Chocolate to the Rescue! You’ll be able to sample chocolates from local businesses. That’s on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Inn at Middletown. What’s even sweeter? The money raised will help homeless families.
When was the last time you and your family went bowling? Lace up your bowling shoes while helping to raise money for mental health awareness and reform. Maybe you’ll bowl a strike! Try it this Sunday in East Haven. Bowl with D.A.N. (Dignity and Advocacy Network) begins at 2 p.m. at AMF Circle Lanes Bowling Alley.
It’s not St. Patrick’s Day just yet, but it’s not too early to celebrate the holiday and the Celtic culture.
The Annual Greater Hartford St. Patrick’s Day Parade is this Saturday. Nearby towns will be marching. The parade starts at 11 a.m. near the State Capitol. Be sure to wear green!
The Connecticut Convention Center is the place to be this weekend. The Latino Expo is happening all weekend long. Doors open at noon on Saturday and Sunday. Celebrate diversity and check out the music and dancing. It won’t cost you anything.
Are your kids into Ninja turtles? How would they like to meet two of them? Michelangelo and Donatello will be bringing turtle power to Mystic Aquarium on Saturday at 10 a.m. Your kids can do their best “cowabunga” pose with them.
It’s that time of year – time for making maple syrup! If you’ve never seen how it’s made, here’s your chance. Maple Sugar Madness is happening at the Welles Shipman Ward House in Glastonbury. You’ll see where the trees are tapped and how the sap becomes delicious maple syrup. It starts at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
It’s not just time for maple syrup – it’s time for St. Patrick’s Day festivities. The Greater New Haven St. Patrick’s Day Parade starts at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Celebrate cultural diversity and enjoy the music as 3,000 marchers head through the streets of the Elm City.
