HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Though we’re still in the middle of winter thousands of people got a taste of summer in Hartford on Sunday.

The Hartford Boat Show wrapped up at the Connecticut Convention Center. There were 250 boats to see, including jet skis, pontoon boats and fishing boats. There were also interactive exhibits and demonstrations.

The event has been held for 47 years. Organizers say it was especially busy this year.

“I want them to feel the fun of being on the water,” said Kathleen Burns, Executive Director of the Connecticut Marine Trades Association. “We have such a tremendous shoreline here in Connecticut, whether it’s our inland lakes and rivers or the beautiful Long Island Sound. There are so many ways to experience these beautiful waters.”

Boat sales have been higher this year in part because of lower gas prices.
